Upper Shipley Climbing @ Blue Mtns

On the first saturday of semester we shall be climbing at Upper Shipley which is about a 5 min drive from Blackheath and has an epic 3 minute walk in on a good track. It is a sport climbing area with a grade 13 and quite a few routes between grades 16 and 19. This trip is not designed as a beginners trip though if a few beginners (or if somebody wants to commandeer the trip) want to come then that is fine though we will will not be setting top ropes.
Another point – this is not a beginner trip you will need to hire your own gear from the club. If you do not bring a harness you do not climb.
We will meet at the Ledge at 730 and car pool up.
If wind is forecast it will be quite unpleasant on that ledge so will change destination to either Mt York of the Dam Cliffs.

Sure Ian, Minor miscalculation on my part means that I now have 3 people in my car — Aline, Ian and Sean — and to avoid squish factor a la point perp, I won’t take any more passengers. Ian, can you facebook me your number so I can contact you if needs be?

Finally signed up to the trip I’m organising.
I can drive people up leaving from either Hornsby station or Richmond. Will return people to Richmond as I will be climbing on sunday as well.

Forecast is good. No rain light to moderate winds. Top of 10 degrees.
Gonna be cold guys. Though the sun should be on the wall from 10 onwards.
It may also be windy as it is quite an exposed location

i tried to get some gear at the ledge but as the girl behind the desk said i first have to contact dean and make an appointment with him? Is that the way it goes or are there other ways to get the stuff?
We couldn’t find any contact details on the site, so it probably won’t work today :-/
Can someone msg me contact details of Mat to ask him about the free spot?
