Araps

What better way to test the new forums than with a thread on Araps  :D   8-) .

HTML features appear to be working.
The usyd non-teaching runs from 10/4 until 17/4. Rough plan at this stage would be leaving late on Thursday the 9th and returning to Sydney on Sunday the 19th. Anyone else also heading down this year at Easter?

I will be up for it so long as assessments and stuff aren't piled up right after the midsem break... Won't know this for about 2 weeks or so once all the lectures tell us their deal.

Testy test.

Yep actually got the time of work so can make this one. Hopefully it won't turn into a permanent break....

Not sure of the travel dates and arrangements? Do I need a tent?

It has turned into a permanent break 8(. So I better bloody enjoy it!

Is it just me or have I not heard much re: organizing for this for a while? Dates, travel arrangements and accommodation etc? I don't have a car that can travel that far and currently don't have a tent and want to go for the whole easter plus the week after.

Should be sweeeeeett.

You haven't heard anything in a while cause the people who have been before are assuming it will be the same as always ie very last minute. And anybody new hasn't started asking questions.

So we will be camping, and you will need a tent. $20 from kmart is fine. Or you could sleep in the nudie outside though be warned you may get malled by feral echidnas or skinks.

Unless some one feels like putting effort into organising transport then it will probably find some one with a car and bags a spot before someone else does.

For people who have to come back early well it depends on your drivers availablity / being nice

I heard the club has a few tents and stoves available, would it be possible for me to use one of them? Also, whats the situation with gas for cooking? Do we all need to bring our own or will the club have some?

Hey Gavin. You'll probably have to mostly organise your own gear since its mainly the racks and ropes that the club can help equip the leaders with. I think the club does have 1 or 2 tents/stoves you can organise to sign out, but should check that with Mike. Araps should be fuel stove only area, so you'll have to bring or buy your own liquid/gas fuel there.
